although the pink used for the background is a tab bit too bright, i like the way it turned out, the way those washes helped create those patterns that create the impression of cherry trees blossoming.
how did the use of salt affect this painting? i use watercolors a lot and so far i noticed that you can obtain the texture in the background without adding salt, it's something called wet-on-wet painting. how did you make yours work?

i used salt while the paint applied was still wet, when it dried i brushed away the salt and the patterns had already formed.
and about the wet on wet painting, i've been using it for backgrounds and large areas of colors mostly, but it only creates a pattern when the paper has a texture of its own. it does help with blending the colors though.
thanks for the suggestion about the background :D
